Course Description

Course Structure
The course divided into two structures depending on course duration and examination body. The structures are Professional courses and Short courses.
Professional Courses
Professional courses in Electrical and Electronics Engineering are those examinable by KNEC/NITA and take a longer duration of study. The professional courses are listed below:
1. Grade tests
This course takes 2 years study duration. The course is examined by NITA and the minimum grade required is D- in KCSE. The course is done in 3 modules;
- Grade 3: Takes 1 year equivalent to 3 terms.
- Grade 2: Takes 6 months equivalent to 2 terms.
- Grade 1: Takes 6 months equivalent to 2 terms.
2. Artisan
Artisan course in Electrical and Electronics Engineering takes 2 years to study. The course is examinable by KNEC and the minimum grade required for this course is D Minus or KCPE certificate.
- The course is done in one module Takes 1 year equivalent to 3 terms
3. Certificate
Certificate course in Electrical and Electronics Engineering takes 2 years to study. The course is examinable by KNEC and the minimum grade required for this course is D plain. The course is done in 2 modules;
- Craft Module 1: Takes 1 year equivalent to 3 terms
- Craft Module 2: Takes 1 year equivalent to 3 terms
4. Diploma
A diploma course in Electrical and Electronics Engineering takes 3 years. The course is examinable by KNEC and the minimum grade required for this course is C minus. The course is done in 3 modules;
